From Bricks and Mortar to Fun and Water!

Dorado Beach is about peace and quiet, wildlife and nature, and an authentic Dutch-style holiday on the water. We're a traditional Dutch company with roots in the brick-making industry.

New Horizon
The Den Daas family produced bricks for three generations. The business is still going strong and operates under the name Daas Baksteen. However, one family member – Jan Willem den Daas – decided to branch off into the leisure industry once the brick factories had been sold.

Exotic Name
In the mid-1970s, Dorado Beach opened its gates as a spacious and luscious caravan park on the banks of the IJssel river. Its name maybe sounds a touch exotic, but it is a reference to the family's former brick-making business, taking the same initials as Daas Baksteen. After all, this business was engrained into the family's genes for generations.

A Family Experience
Dorado Beach thus became the first marina and holiday park in the Thuishaven Group. In the years that followed, Bruinisse Marina, Muiderzand Marina in Almere and Naarden Marina were also added.

Sadly, Den Daas Recreatie's founder – Jan Willem den Daas – died in 2008, but his legacy continued with his four children taking over at the helm under Nanke den Daas, the current company managing director. Run by a family for families, the Den Daas Thuishaven marinas all exude a warm, family feeling. Service, care and attention aren't mere words in a brochure; they're grafted into our company's DNA.

Sustainable & Comfortable
The leisure and recreation industry is – as all other sectors – in a constant state of flux. For decades, we wanted nothing more than to jet off to a remote beach destination... but the tide has turned and now, a tranquil holiday in the heart of the Netherlands is 'hip' again.

Dorado Beach's accommodation has recently been expanded to include new berths and pitches, short-stay cabins, exotic stilt houses and comfortable chalets. The Future Sustainable business practices are extremely important to us and we've got numerous plans up our sleeve in this respect. But rest assured, one thing that won't change is the beauty and serenity of the parklands around the marina.

Peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. A simple, down-to-earth experience. Close to home and no expensive airline tickets required!
