There's so much to do and see in and around Dorado Beach – for starters, there's the countryside, river, playground, sports facilities and the view from top of the dyke. You can go beaver spotting, hiking, flower and fruit picking, canoeing, swimming... the list is virtually endless. You can even rent electric bikes.
If you're a foodie, then you'll be in for a real treat sampling all the local fare. We've got a traditional brewery close by (within walking or cycling distance) where you're welcome to drop in for a visit and thirst-quenching, cool beer. There are also dozens of farms where you'll be able to pick up organic cheeses, vegetables, fruit and flowers.
Dieren, Doesburg, Bronckhorst & Olburgen
In villages dotted all along the river, you'll find loads of great little stops, cafés and other places of interest. The villages of Dieren, Doesburg, Bronckhorst and Olburgen are closest to Dorado Beach and all have lots of things to do and see. The ferry crossing between Olburgen and Dieren is one of the most idyllic experiences to be found anywhere in the Netherlands.
You'll be forgiven for thinking that time has stood still in Bronckhorst – especially in around its wonderful museum. This is the place to go for a lazy Sunday afternoon and a bite to eat. Visit the vvvbronckhorst.nl tourist information website for inspiration and information about the Achterhoek's bocage countryside, its castles and the Kunst4daagse – four days of art exhibitions at galleries and ateliers around Bronckhorst.
